Post Bridal portrait

Yesterday I brought Laura, one of my September brides, to Brookstone Event Center for some sample images. Laura loved wearing her wedding gown again and I had fun taking my time composing these images. Thanks to Suzanne's Weddings for letting me borrow a bouquet and to Lucy from Brookstone for letting us come in and take the place over for a while.

making mats in photoshop

I learned how to make "mats" with beveled edges that look real in Photoshop a few weeks ago. A mat can be any color, including colors that are in the photo.

I have a fake brick wall in my studio that I dont use as often as I should. I just love how it looks.

This is a very subtle before and after. The first photo is perfectly acceptable, but with a few adjustments and retouching it becomes unique.

Plum Island

My husband and I took a walk on Plum Island recently. Needless to say it was as cold as it looked. I made this into an 8x10 for my house.

We did some adorable color photos with a white background and her stuffed bunny, but I like this one the most.

These are images I did for the company my husband works for. He is the manager of the Lawrence location. They were printed into 30x40s for a display at a home show next weekend.

Before and after

It's been a while since I've blogged so it's time to get back into it. I havent been shooting much this winter so until I do, I want to show some before and after images. I love working with Photoshop! This style is called selective tinting or color splash.

Rainy day wedding

It absolutely poured on their wedding day, but we were still able to scout around the hotel to get these amazing images. Sometimes you just have to look for little interesting spots.
